Watermelon

WatermelonMy daughter and I arrived back in town today. We were on vacation last week. I cooked every single day while I was away? I love good food, and to be honest there is very few restaurants that I actually enjoy I had fun experimenting with foods like hominy it received a middle eastern twist (think Indian food.)

I also enjoyed making delectable raw cuisines like stuffed raw pasta with cashew nut sauce, tomatoes stuffed with a bean pate, and chocolate peanut butter Truffle pie. It was made with tofu. That one surprised many people and it didn’t last long.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting pictures and sharing recipes.

When we arrived home, Aiyana wanted to eat fruit so I cut up a ripe juicy melon, and we feasted on that. The melons in my garden are coming along nicely.

  1. Do you have melons in your garden? I wish I had. My melons have travelled. They usually are imported from South of Europe. Melons are the most refreshing fruit a hot summer day. More refreshing than any other fruit I know.

  2. Hi Karin,
Yes I have melons in my garden; however, they are still babies. Maybe I should take a picture of them and post here. I agree melons are refreshing/hydrating! Lately I’ve been on a melon kick.

  3. Is there anything more perfect on a summer day than watermelon? I’m growing some in my garden, too. Actually, in a container on my deck — the vines are twining through the railing and I’m hoping that by having the melons on the wood deck I’ll avoid that nasty rot that sometimes happens. Mine are the size of golf balls right now. I can hardly wait to eat them!
