Green Smoothie

Green Smoothie

  • 4 cups freshly juiced apples (or you could use 100% apple juice)
  • 1 cup frozen bananas (you could use bananas that have not been frozen)
  • 2 cups of baby spinach
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Directions

  1. In a blender add apple juice & baby spinach
  2. Blend until smooth
  3. Add bananas and nutmeg
  4. Blend until smooth
  5. Serve & Enjoy

I made this delicious smoothie a few moments ago. Guess what? If you juice your apples you have a deliciously all raw vegan smoothie.

I love greens and I eat them raw however not everyone shares my love for greens. Adding raw greens to your smoothies is simple, effective, and tasteful way to incorporate more greens into your daily eating regimen. Don’t stop at the spinach! You can also add other greens to your smoothies. Two of my favorite greens to add are collards and kale.

Greens are high in fiber which helps keep us regular. Greens are packed with nutrients that are bodies crave. Instead of reaching for that sugary drink that has no nutritional value why not try making this smoothie instead?

Aren’t the flowers lovely? They were picked from my garden.

  1. The flowers are stunning - they caught my eye right away! What a big and gorgeous bouquet. Something nice to look at while enjoying your nutritious smoothie. I still have to try putting some raw greens into my smoothie. I like all your green choices - spinach, kale and collard greens. Yum.

  2. teeni,
Yes they are lovely. When I snapped this photo this morning it was as if I was seeing it for the first time.
You should try them. It’s a great way to boost your intake of greens.

  3. I think this is a great way to get some extra greens in your diet. I will try this soon when I get my new plan sketched out.

  4. Beth,
It’s pleasant way to add greens. My daughter had two 8 ounce glasses of this earlier today. It’s sweet and as she says “very yummy”. The frozen bananas was an “extra” treat for her, lol.

  5. I am so hungry and that looks soooooo refreshing and satiating! YUM!!! I have to make my smoothie now (I’m adding loads of fresh herbs and habanero peppers!—oh and maybe some chocolate!)
    Cheers!

  6. What a heavenly picture. Once again, you put a new spin on the green smoothie. I never thought about adding nutmeg. It sounds yummy and palatable!

  7. Yummy. I am fruitarian but sometimes I like greens rarely/this would be great

  8. I’m not so sure about the spinach, yet, for me a smoothie is something fruity either made with cream (when I need it - you know those days) or with yoghurt (all summer long  )
But as the world belongs to the brave I might give it a try! If I do so, I’ll let you know, ok?
