  2. Lightly grease a medium baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the cornmeal, oregenao, old bay season, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip tomato slices into the mixture, coating both sides. Arrange coated slices in a single layer on a medium baking sheet.
  5. Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until crisp and golden brown.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

I made these this past Sunday. The green tomatoes came from my garden. They crust was flavorful and the tomato was extremely tender and flavorful. My daughter loves them.

  1. These look absolutely divine. This post made me hungry! Funny though - I was just talking the other day to a friend of mine and we were discussing how you can not find green tomatoes at the grocery store so she has been wanting to make these but since she doesnt have a garden she has been out of luck. I know you grow your own but any tips on where she might look to find green tomatoes? I have not seen any either.

  2. teeni,
Thanks! Do you have any local farms in your area? That would be an excellent place to purchase green tomatoes. :-)

  5. Beth,
I turned out very well of course you can always add them to light oil also. I’ve done that in the past.
