A Raw Food Dream, Raw Ice Cream

I enjoy simple meals and you will see me making them the majority of the time. I eat a high amount of raw foods so many days you will find me eating some deliciously raw vegan dish. Who thought raw food good be so sinfully delicious and nutritious at the same time. I’m on a wrapper kick so many days I’ve been eating a lot of organic greens. Where do I get the greens? From my garden. We have them all year round. They are hardy plants and survive the colder months quite well.
I usually wrap the filling in a collard or kale leaf. They make fabulous wrappers. The first time I ever saw a sandwich made as this was watching one of Juliano Brotman’s videos. I’ve included one of them although this isn’t the one I’m referring to. He was nothing like I expected and I loved it.

I listened to what he had to saw about raw foods and decided to come up with my own style of raw cuisine. I had purchased his book Raw: The Uncook Book and although I love the pictures I found many recipes to be a little long for my taste.
Yesterday after I was leaving the gym I stopped by the market and purchase eight mangoes. They don’t last long in our household, and they are a delightful addition to fruit smoothies, sauces, and raw ice-cream.
Aiyana, my daughter has been clamoring for “mango ice-cream” for the past several days so I told her we would make some tomorrow. She is on cloud nine.
It snowed here today, we hung more Christmas lights, and tomorrow she gets her raw mango ice-cream. It’s a four-year olds dream come true.
I’m hoping I’ll have a chance to take a picture and post the raw mango ice-cream tomorrow. It is delicious and so good for you.

This looks really interesting as well - I did not even know it was possible to make ice cream at home like that - that is great for those of us who rely on ice cream to relieve our stress!! LOL
I live in the midwest, so our winters get pretty cold (below freezing 75% of the time). Will greens live through that kind of severe weather? Also, I have tried growing greens in the summer, but they end up tasting very bitter. Any tips would be appreciated.
